If I have Chthon on the sideline and assigned to one figure, and I have ANOTHER figure with the pilot effect, can THAT figure choose Chthon as it’s pilot ?

I’m asking this because Chthon would then be a side line figure assigned to two different figures with different abilities.

I tend to feel that this shouldn't work, but other players are disagreeing...

There is no caveat of not being equipped/assigned or chosen by other game effects like they specifically worded with the MSNP chases.

Like I said, unless you provide a reason that they couldn’t overlap besides ‘this feels dirty’ assume those players are correct.

We are in a new era. If it consistently leads to uncompetitive outcomes they will outright ban or completely errata it (Darkseid single handedly just blanket changed all PILOT traits). They recently banned a modern age terrain marker. Now that they’re (finally) willing to police their game I say let them do their thing.
