This guy brings everything to the table you want from a veteran Batman. Yeah he's costly but look what he brings. Look at all that Improved targeting and movement. Look at those stats and power combos. Look at his traits and special powers. And check out those keywords! This guy is dangerous and effective all the time! Even when it's not your turn. He simply plays like a determined, in your face, no time to waste, efficiency of action Batman should play.
As for Trinity Wars Bats, he's a fantastic dial, a really great powerful dial, just not a great Batman dial. That's why I don't have one and have no desire to have him in my collection. This one is a great Batman dial. A fanboy-approved dial, I would even say.
He's the hero you wanted but didn't realize it until you saw him in action.
Total respect for your opinion, but I have the exact opposite take. Dials like the Justice League Strategy Game or Trinity War dials with Batman showing eminent flexibility have much more of a veteran Batman feel to me. Batman always has an answer for whatever gets thrown at him.
Marvel Zombies and others can complain about some Batman clix seeming overpowered, but ... he's Batman. His mythic appeal as a hero in popular culture is so great in large part because he is a human who excels on his own efforts and merits. No need for alien origins, godhood, magic powers, serums, mutations, adamantium, or freak accidents to achieve incredible things. That is why he resonates so well as a hero.
This figure seems to say he studies up on a foe, but if it is only one foe from the start or later on... Batman's edge is non-existent? The simple Outwit defines Batman's edge much better than this trait. I don't think Batman is defined so much as a counterpuncher either, so the defense special power is meh on feel. Sure, the raw numbers are high, but does that make it feel especially like Batman? As for keywords, the plethora of them would seem nicer if he wasn't so expensive pointwise, and if he had any traits that explicitly helped his teammates. Unless you are playing a higher point game, this figure doesn't seem worth fielding at his point cost.
If I am running Batman as a team player, there are many interesting cheaper options for various keywords that feel more like Batman to me and allow him to add his smarts and skills to a team of powerful teammates.
In drawing lines to avoid picking up every commonly-clixed figure that comes along, I easily passed on this Batman. From my point of view, this is the hero I know I don't want, and I know I will never need.
This was the first Batman figure I ever got and I played him every chance I had until I got the trinity piece and even though I am biased towards this guy something always felt... Wrong while I played him. He has good values and a neat slew of plwers yet something was always wrong. I finally put my finger on it: his speed powers are backwards. If this Bats opened with charge, then got flurry and ended with sidestep I think he'd be worth thise points. His counterpunch ability needs him to be in close, yet all he can do is awkwardly shuffle up to them or spend a full blown action getting to them. Lastly in regards to his comic accuracy, I think it depends on what Batman you want. Trinity Bats is the Batman who stands with the Justice League, he's the Batman who fights Darkseid. THIS Batman is the one who patrols Gotham city and fights regular crime. Well, that's my opinion anyway.
A lot of hate for this piece. He's my favorite for the Batmobile @119. Batman Family ATA and whatever you can spend 3 points on. You get 11,13,17,4 with Perplex, Charge, Ram, and a ton of life to get through before those combat values change. It's a tough thing to get past in any point game, but pretty ridiculous in 300. KC would bring better values as a pilot but this guy's easier to come by. Outside of that he is still the best Batman for Batman Inc keyword. TW Batman is still the best stand alone version to date but this guy shines when used correctly.
This always felt a lot like Rocksteady's Arkham Batman, to me. An extra point of range would have been nice. The attack power, while not useless, still doesn't accomplish much, and I have a feeling that it made a significant contribution to his hefty cost. I would have preferred that it allowed him to place the hit characters in any two squares within his LOF, and not at an elevation higher than their current elevation. Lower would be fine, though; jerk them off of the building and deal them falling damage! I wish that his Trait had a 'can't be ignored' clause, to protect him from Pulse Wave (if that were the power that he chose), but that may be getting a little greedy. Finally, Incapacitate and/or Precision Strike would have been a fine addition to his attack power. Opening 12 attack/Perplex was, and still is, quite a potent attribute. Overall, he's a unique, fun piece.
