Getting to this game today. Will post the teams soon.
Also, has HRPS ever done a Doom Patrol under the direction of Doctor Doom?
I know its just a name assosciation, but it came to me as I woke up this morning and I couldn't believe I had missed such an obvious opportunity.
I don't think we have? Might have been something in HRS 1.0 but not this time (so far we've established Doom is still ruling Latveria, but nothing about Doom Patrol yet).
Who were your characters? Dr. Strange, Kuurth, Hawkgirl, Legolas, and Black Cat vs. Werewolves (basically) Who did you rescue? Jason Blood/Etrigan Did you succeed? Yes, by slaughtering the werewolves Who lived? Who fell? Kuurth, Hawkgirl, and Black Cat were KO'd. I rolled death saving throws for them, and while Kuurth and Black Cat succeeded, Hawkgirl didn't. At least she'll reincarnate.
The Adventurers were trying to rescue King Britain, His two companions the Union Jacks relayed information about there enemy to Strange who they all expected too be the one doing the leading. Strange telepathically relays the plan to his new teammates, Gorgon will come with me to get the King, Diana, wait for them to engage us and get our flank, Elf you give us cover on the right and Unions get the Left. Simple plan, in and out, fast and effective.
Strange uses the Eye of Agamotto to let his teammates see through the cover. The Monsters reacting to the heroes blitzing the jail cell, desperately attempts to get into position.
Stegron unleashes his dinosaurs
Holiday Elf checks his list, checks it twice to see if Green Goblin and Alistair Smythe have been naughty of nice, giving them both a action token and a lump of coal for Christmas.
Red Union Jack uses his Dragonfire Incendiary grenade to injure Lizard and Clea
Holiday Elf summons Mistletoe saving Dr Strange from a swamp monster
Morbius gets a chomp on Diana, then gets a kick to her back throwing her into a wall immediately taking her out of the fight.
Dr Strange critical misses on a crucial support roll that could have saved Gorgon. My magic is weaker here? This is something I will have to inspect if I ever get out of this fight, Strange thinks.
Green Goblin circles around to make sure no one gets a easy escape.
Smythe slashes Holiday Elf taking him out of the fight and the Swamp monster overwhelms Strange.
Green Goblin sends his Glider directly into the escaping King Britain decapatating in one single swoop. “Down goes the King! Hahahahaha” screams the Goblin
Gorgon was surrounded and saw there was no escape, pleading the Kings Guard too flee and fight another day, Both attempted but only the Blue Union Jack was able too escape... Dr Strange luckily has a contingency plan for this kind of situation and was dragged away by his Enchantated robe. Holiday Elf and Red Union Jack we’re dead. Gorgon and Diana taken prisoners. This, all because Dr Strange underestimated the powers of strangers from a different world
The Monsters took this day with little to no resistance, Stegron’s dinosaurs, Morbius healing to his starting click, and Green Goblin stopping any of there attempts to escape.

Reason: Story and Results
Hey, guys. I'm loving these Weirdworld teams and writeups. Serious question for everyone: I have an idea for the third HRS 2.0 arc in the "main" world, but would you want to play out a chapter completely IN Weirdworld? I have a very out of the box idea if there's interest there. Would totally change up the game and sort of hit the pause button on the Finer World series, but I think this could be a lot of fun.

I’m all for it. I’ve been cranking out some new mythos ideas with our
Weirdworld system.
HRS
The dynamic duo Scarlet Witch and Vision, Mysterio
Did you guys see a post from me yesterday about the details on what the two story arc options were? I could've sworn I typed it up and posted it and now it's gone, and I'm kind of losing it. (I heard the site had some glitches yesterday so I'm hoping the post just got eaten and not that I'm the one glitching out in the Matrix or something.)
Option A: We continue with the Changers' world post Kree invasion. Each chapter would be a battle for a different city to see how the world looks in the aftermath: criminals versus heroes, or even heroes versus anti-heroes, vying for control of Gotham, Metropolis, Manhattan, Topeka... Lots of roster-building, power moves, creating a new world in the aftermath.
Option B: Weirdworld. Heroclix as D&D. Each player is controlling their own small "party of adventurers" who are either trying to find their way home or establish their place in Weirdworld. High fantasy with the usual WTF-ery that goes into Weirdworld.
We can totally do both, but I'm curious what everyone would have more fun playing next. Feels like we need a jolt of interactivity in the next arc so I want to try something new.
I'd think alternating between the two might work, given how slow some of us are in being able to get games and write-ups together - a way to make sure slowbies can still work on the Changers story when the Weirdworld one goes up, etc.
"Your name, wizard?" the big bearded bloke beseeched.
The mage sighed, knowing what to expect with this, so he avoids the 'who's on first' routine that would come with his last name. "You can call me Stephen."
"Stephen The Wizard!" he shouts with a smile. "Or do you prefer Stephen The Warlock?"
"... just Stephen will be fine."
"Very well. I am Hercules, Lion of Olympus!"
That gives Strange pause. This World may be Weirder than he thought, but he is no stranger to the concept of immortals. "... how long have you been here?"
"Would that I knew, Stephen The Sorcerer," Hercules responds, with a glint in his eye suggesting he is proud of his alliteration and that this will be the new nomenclature for the wizard no matter how he might protest. "It feels as though it were a short spell, but time is difficult to chart here without proper clockwork... and speaking of clockwork, allow me to introduce to you Nebula, The Comely Maiden of Machinery!"
The shifty-looking cyborg alien's profound irritation with that introduction resonates uncomfortably with everyone but the oblivious Olympian. Her refusal to speak, however, finally registers with him, and his response is a simple shrug. "She... does not have o'ermuch to say."
"She and I are partners," comes the voice from the similarly blue-tinged ruffian with the red headfin and rag-tag trenchcoat... and a curious floating golden arrow hovering over his shoulder. "We're Ravagers. That name mean anythin' to ya, wiz?"
"No," Strange replies. "But I must say you both look unsettlingly like Kree."
Yondu breaks into a jagged-toothed grin. "Kree done ya wrong, huh?"
"Conqured my planet, slaughtered and enslaved my people. I'd call that a pretty egregious bit of wrongdoing. One might even call it 'ravaging.'"
That toothy grin fades a bit. "Ya might, but don't get cute. We may be Kree, but we got no love for 'em. Matter o' fact, we were outrunnin' a Pursuer ship out past Rigel when somethin' hit us, everythin' went black, and we woke up here. Just tryin' ta get by 'til we find a way off this funky rock."
"You are NOT leaving until we rescue our beloved hero!" comes a high-pitched, energetic female voice, belonging to a young woman with a big, bushy tail. "We have a responsibility - nay, a CALLING! - to see to his safety! He's done SO MUCH for us, we can do no less for him!"
Hercules clasps a hand on her shoulder. "We can and we will do no less, Doreen of Woodland Rodents! Now let us make haste before his captors can inflict any more eldritch mayhem upon us all!"
Strange blinks a little at the Squirrel Girl, but he is adept at adapting to the Weird of the World.
Most of the group is not interested in stealth, although Nebula makes sure to stay out of sight, while Yondu flanks their advance from a high perch. Strange would prefer more of a plan, especially without knowledge of the enemy, but neither Hercules nor Doreen seem particularly keen on guile. They are here to free their friend and that's that.
Suddenly, though, there's a shout from Yondu as he's attacked by a green-clad figure with a cobra's hood, and the intense noise of multiple hissings becomes readily apparent. And a giant, multi-limbed, half-serpent woman in medieval royalty regalia rises up and looms overhead.
"Well now," she oozes. "Isn't this a delicious little affront? Tell me, little ones... who dares wander so carelessly into the realm of the Societe Serpentine?"
At her word, the rest of the snake-like beings start to emerge around them, humanoid and armored, yet unnatural.
Hercules seems relatively unfazed by the numbers around them. "Base villains! You are holding our compatriot against his will, and this is a state of affairs we cannot abide!"
Laughter, bordering on a cackle. "Abide it you shall. I am the Queen of Fables, and this is my consort, King Cobra, and our daughter, Princess Python, and our loyal Knights of the Ouroboros! This realm is ours, and your fates are mine to control as I see fit."
"This pit of vipers you fester within means nothing to one who has slain the nine-headed Lernaean Hydra!"
"Oh, this is rich! You are Herakles of legend? Oh, it will be my PLEASURE to seize control of your destiny to write your story with impunity! You have no hope of dismantling our mystical prison of - "
"Got it," Strange says, as the cage shatters into oblivion, much to the shock of the Queen. And out from the crystalline shards emerges a spirit with a starkly familiar visage.
"Mr. President!" Doreen eagerly says, with a salute.
The apparition nods to her, before turning to the Queen. "Our histories have yet to be completed, madam, but I believe you will be little more than a footnote."
The Queen's widened eyes start to flare with anger. "How PRESUMPTUOUS of you to think that you can - URRK!"
Doreen seems to have had enough of the chatter, as she and her horde of squirrels (from whence did they come?) hit the Queen with the force of a charging stampede, bowling her over and off of her... tentacles. The direct combat delights Hercules.
"Well hit, Doreen of Rodents! Have at thee, knaves!" With that, Hercules follows up her assault with a mighty clubbing and knocks the Queen out cold.
The Societe Serpentine does not appear accustomed to that. They turn almost in unison to look for guidance from King Cobra, only to watch him fall from that high perch at nearly the exact same time, thanks to a more-than-palpable hit from Nebula's blade.
Princess Python is aghast... and quickly falls into an angry panic. "SERPENTS! ATTACK AT WILL!" she shrieks, letting loose her own giant pet python into the fray, which quickly coils around Hercules and Doreen. Anaconda and Rattler swiftly pounce upon the wizard, catching Strange being a little too proud of his handiwork, and he's knocked unconscious. Death Adder manages a vicious retaliation against Nebula as well.
The fighting is quick and hectic, with Rattler's whip-coil tail hitting hard strikes as the giant python confounds the adventurer's attempts at counter-attack, but with many a rodent sacrificing itself for the sake of Doreen's safety. Abraham Lincoln's spectral energy does manage to stagger the Serpentines long enough for his friends to regain their bearings.
Yondu and Nebula rain fire from their high perch, while Squirrel Girl manages to knock out Puff Adder as Anaconda delivers a German suplex to Hercules. Doreen barely manages to dodge the claws of Death Adder while Hercules manages to roll through that suplex with a grip on Anaconda's ankle, and with deft, Olympic-trained movements, manages to wrestle her into a figure-4 leglock. Yondu manages to clip Death Adder enough for Doreen to knock him out, as Anaconda squirms out of that leglock and wraps her stretchy arms around Hercules' jaw in a crossface chickenwing chokehold. The horde of squirrels swarming all over Rattle proves to overwhelm him as Hercules powers out of that chokehold and executes a cunning curl-under to trap Anaconda in a trangle chokehold of his own. Anaconda's flailing attempts to escape the hold include a wide swipe of one of her powerful, extensive-arm fists catching Doreen in the back of the head, knocking her out. The distraction and subsequent concern for Doreen's well-being causes Hercules to break the hold, but that just gives a clear enough shot for Yondu and Nebula to snipe her and end her threat for good.
"What cheapened victory!" Hercules decries, having been robbed of his chance for a clean win. "She was a valiant combatant! I could have defeated her myself!"
"Save it for the championship belt, beefcake!" Yondu snaps back with a smirk, as his archer's arrow takes down the python while Lincoln finishes off the princess.
Hercules picks himself up and dusts himself off. "Every match with the mighty Hercules is a match of champions!" But even he understands priorities, as he goes to make sure Doreen isn't injured too badly.
SURVIVORS: Hercules, Yondu, Nebula, The Ghost of Abraham Lincoln, Tippy-Toe and 2 squirrel bystanders. KOed: Squirrel Girl and Dr. Strange... and several bystander squirrels.
