Does this stop click mean you can not attack apocalypse when this power is showing? The “can’t be damaged by opposing effects” part
SUMMON OUR FULL MIGHT: STOP. Apocalypse can't be damaged by opposing effects, healed, or chosen for Mastermind. // At the beginning of your turn, generate a Daemon bystander in a square within 6 squares. // At the end of your turn, deal Apocalypse 1 unavoidable damage
Characters can still attack him, he just can't be damaged by anything originating from an opposing character. You could still attack him to apply other effects though, or have effects trigger off of hitting a character.
Note these rules:

A character is not considered “damaged” by an effect unless its dial is actually clicked.

Turning a dial in either direction is called “clicking” the dial. When a character takes damage, that character’s owner clicks the character’s combat dial once for each 1 damage taken, in the direction of increasing click numbers. Healing goes the opposite direction.
So the wording can be restated as "Apocalypse's dial cannot be clicked in the direction of increasing click numbers by opposing effects."
It’s my understanding that you technically can attack him for no damage, but why would you want to?
Note that there are two swords in the Retail XoS set that directly work around that power:
xmxss002 Muramasa Blade
EFFECT: Blades/Claws/Fangs. When this character uses it and rolls a 1-3, the hit character can't use defense powers until the beginning of your next turn.
xmxss004 Black Bone of Amduat
EFFECT: Blades/Claws/Fangs. When this character uses it, the hit target can't use STOP for this attack.
The Muramasa blade's effect (in this circumstance) is an example of "If you shoot for the king, don't miss", because if triggered, Apocalypse can be healed (and won't otherwise click his dial).
xmxss004 Black Bone of Amduat
EFFECT: Blades/Claws/Fangs. When this character uses it, the hit target can't use STOP for this attack.
The interaction with Black Bone is actually interesting. If Apoc isn't on clicks 7-9, then a character using it could potentially killed him. If Apoc is already on 7-9? I don't think it's going to do anything Preventing the use of STOP isn't going to get around the rest of what the power does if it's active.

Dumb question but, just to clarify how it works as I am confused, does an attack count as an opposing effect? If so, where is that stated in the rules?
I was confused based on something I heard,(pulled him in sealed, was told otherwise) so I know this is a question that feels assumed by the thread, so Im sure it is true, but I just want to make sure I know how it works if that thing comes up again, and have a rule to cite. Thanks and sorry.

This is where I was a bit confused, as in the rule book, effects and attacks are different sections and terms.
