Set list for Honor of Grayskull is nearing completion. I need to arrange Quad pack figures for Rarity and I'm still on fence about Primes and Chases within them.
Next week I will spend my Spring Break play-testing dials. Going to start with best of three matches for the Starter figures (easy math) at 600 and 300 then a few 400 and 500 to check balance. Then I will apply an algorithm for sealed and see what dominates the set. My guess is the SR and Chases but there are some pretty powerful pieces in the CURs as well. First thing I noticed was very few flyers so mobility may be an issue. I did make sure that each set list included several but outside of vehicles the ability isn't very common on Eternia. Sidestep is rampant as a design choice to make up for it. Let's see how long it takes to get the battle started, or how common the current rarity status actually hands out wings. I really wonder if WK puts as much thought in balancing sets as I have been for this project.
I expanded the CON-EX section to include some tie in for each release. I went with the DCU vs MOTU Toys-R-Us Exclusives for the first set. He-Man/Superman is based on an 80's comic instead and Teela/WW was never released but is all they were missing in the end. The Honor of Grayskull Convention pieces are based on DCU vs He-Man & MOTU comic series from the past few years. As the follow up to that series was MOTU vs Thundercats they got the theme for Battleground. As another realmser is currently tackling that franchise I will extend an offer to 'team-up' for those dials.
Since Filmation series is so integral to the mythos but there are many obvious inconsistencies I decided to give them a micro-set based on their appearances there. Seems like something WK would do anyway...
